The Mudmen: Celtic Rock’s Rowdy Road Warriors

Saturday, January 3 • 8 PM
The Historic Market Hall

If you’ve never seen the Mudmen live, brace yourself. This isn’t your average toe-tapping Celtic band—this is a full-on sonic blast of bagpipes, grit, and rock ‘n’ roll swagger. Born from the dirt and drive of Southwestern Ontario, the Campbell BrothersSandy and Rob—first got noticed in ‘93, eventually morphing into the powerhouse known as Mudmen in 1998. Since then, they’ve become Canada’s Celtic Rock warriors, crisscrossing the country (and beyond) like plaid-clad storm chasers with a piper’s soul and a punk rocker’s energy.

They’ve hit milestones that most bands only dream of—music on WWE, Xbox, PlayStation, HBO’s Shameless, Coach’s Corner, and six Don Cherry Rock’em Sock’em DVDs. They even blew their bagpipes for the Queen and joined Johnny Reid on a national tour. From Grey Cup fan-fests to Memorial Cups, Briers, and Canada’s Walk of Fame ceremonies, Mudmen have become a fixture at some of the most patriotic and high-octane moments this country has to offer.

With ten albums under their belt and over 3,000 shows played across seven countries, Mudmen are built for the road. But don’t let the stage smoke and feedback fool you—they’re as kind offstage as they are raucous on it. They live by the mantra that “nice guys can finish first”, and their fans—from hockey dads to festival kids—wouldn’t have it any other way.

So if you’re looking for a band that’s equal parts bagpipes, beer, and brotherhood, the Mudmen will deliver—loud, proud, and with kilts flying.
