The Black Horse has another full week of live music lined up, starting Monday with Crash & Burn Jam. Rick & Gailie, JP Hovercraft and Clifford Maynes keep Peterborough’s longest-running jam session rolling from 7–10 pm, now more than 20 years strong.
Tuesday brings Open Mic with Joslynn Burford at 6 pm, while Wednesday welcomes UK contemporary folk duo Arthur Coates & Kerran Cotterell from 7–10 pm. Winners of the 2025 Robinson Emerging Artist Showcase at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, the pair blend English, Irish and Scottish traditional influences with modern folk songwriting, rich harmonies and sharp musicianship.
On Thursday, Carling Stephen and Rob Phillips lead the house band for the Black Horse’s weekly Jazz & Blues Night, running 7–10 pm.
Friday belongs to the Keith Guy Band, back from 8–11 pm with a mix of soul, R&B and rock favourites from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.
Saturday is a double-header, with Bob Butcher from 5–8 pm, followed by RucKus from 9 pm–midnight. Featuring Don Zablotny and Earl Wilfong, RucKus brings plenty of veteran stage mileage, with Zablotny having shared bills with Glass Tiger, Frozen Ghost and America, and opened for Joe Cocker.
The week wraps Sunday with Brennen Sloan from 4–7 pm. A contemporary Canadian folk songwriter and storyteller influenced by Gordon Lightfoot and John Denver, Sloan writes songs rooted in Canadian life, loss, resilience and the landscape that connects it all.
