The Celtic Tenors – Ireland’s Soul in Three-Part Harmony

Sat August 9 @ 8:00 pm
Del Crary Park, Musicfest

As the Nine Ships 1825 Bicentennial sails into high celebration, prepare for a night that trades fire and fury for elegance and emotion. Enter The Celtic Tenors—a trio whose voices don’t just echo through concert halls, they stir something ancient in the marrow.

For over a quarter-century, these Irish ambassadors of song—Matthew Gilsenan, Daryl Simpson, and George Hutton—have harmonized across genres and continents, blending classical finesse with folk roots and a whisper of pop seduction. Their musical passport is inked with global success: over a million records sold, standing ovations from Dublin to Sydney, chart domination in North America and Europe. Yet at their core, they’re still singing for home.

Born from the spirit of the original Three Irish Tenors, The Celtic Tenors formed in 1999 as a cross-border brotherhood of sound, representing three of Ireland’s four provinces. Their music isn’t just technically stunning—it’s deeply human. Each note is a thread between past and present, from the mournful lift of Danny Boy to a bold, contemporary lilt inspired by Ed Sheeran and Van Morrison.

With a repertoire that walks a tightrope between soaring arias and smoky pub ballads, their concerts are less performance, more pilgrimage. It’s not just about how they sing. It’s about why.

So come for the voices, stay for the soul. This is Ireland, sung from the heart—by three men who carry the island’s spirit in every breath.
