Mudmen & Irish Millie — Celtic Thunder Meets Rising Fire

Wed August 6 @ 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Del Crary Park, Musicfest

Grab your kilts and hold onto your Guinness—this isn’t your grandfather’s ceilidh. As part of Irish Week and the roaring Nine Ships 1825 Bicentennial celebrations, Mudmen are storming the stage with a blast of bagpipes, electric guitars, and grit-soaked rock energy.

For over 25 years, the Mudmen have carved their legacy into Canada’s musical landscape, turning barrooms into battlegrounds and sharing stages with everyone from Johnny Reid to the Queen. Once known as the Campbell Brothers—bricklayers by day, rockers by night—Robby and Sandy rebranded as Mudmen and turned up the voltage. With highland roots and punk-rock drive, they’ve left their mark on Hockey Night in Canada, video game soundtracks, and national stages coast to coast.

Opening the night is fiddle firestarter Irish Millie. Inspired by Natalie MacMaster at the age of three, Millie (aka Amelia Shadgett) has been building an unstoppable momentum. She’s a five-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee with chops that blur the lines between old-time tradition and new-school innovation. Now 18 and studying Music Industry and Technology at U of T, she’s fiddling her way into the future—fast.

This is more than a concert. It’s a full-blown Celtic uprising. A double bill of raw talent, heritage heat, and foot-stomping joy—set to ignite Irish Week and carry the Nine Ships 1825 Bicentennial into the night.
