The Trans-Canada Highwaymen bring together four familiar voices from Canadian rock: Moe Berg of The Pursuit of Happiness, Chris Murphy of Sloan, Craig Northey of Odds and former Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page.
Between them, they have written some of the country’s most enduring rock songs, and those originals remain the heart of the live show. Berg delivers favourites including “I’m An Adult Now,” “Hard to Laugh” and “She’s So Young,” while Murphy revisits “Underwhelmed,” “The Other Man” and “The Rest of My Life.”
Northey brings Odds classics including “It Falls Apart,” “Someone Who’s Cool” and “Make You Mad,” while Page reaches back to Barenaked Ladies favourites such as “The Old Apartment,” “Brian Wilson” and “Jane.”
The show also features material from Explosive Hits Vol. 1, the group’s collection of Canadian songs from the 1960s and ’70s. And with a title like Vol. 1, the Highwaymen are clearly leaving the road open for more.
