The Bros. Landreth

Thursday, July 9 • 7:00 PM
Market Hall Performing Arts Centre

The Bros. Landreth have the kind of backstory that feels almost too on-brand to invent: two Winnipeg brothers, practically raised in clubs and around instruments, growing into one of Canada’s most respected roots acts. Built around Dave and Joey Landreth, the band has carved out a sound steeped in soul, blood harmonies, and guitar-driven roots music — the sort of music that feels lived-in rather than manufactured, weathered in all the right places.

Over the years, they’ve earned two JUNO Awards, critical praise, and a fiercely loyal audience drawn to their emotional songwriting, sharp musicianship, and the easy force of their live shows. Their touring history stretches across North America, the UK, Europe, and Australia, with standout appearances at places like Byron Bay Blues Festival and Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival — not exactly beginner’s terrain.

Then came 2023, when the brothers hit another level: Bonnie Raitt’s version of their song “Made Up Mind” earned a Grammy for Americana Performance of the Year, making Joey and Dave Grammy-winning songwriters in the process. It was a fitting twist for artists whose own sound has long drawn from the records that shaped them — Bonnie Raitt’s blues bite, Little Feat’s loose-limbed groove, Ry Cooder’s adventurous touch, Lyle Lovett’s tradition-minded cool. The result is music that honours its influences without getting trapped inside them: rooted, soulful, and entirely their own.

Ticket Price: $44.00
