Showplace Performance Centre
Relive the Music has always trafficked in pure crowd-pleasing excess, but now the show has kicked the doors even wider open. What began as a hit-packed ride through the ’50s and ’60s has been supercharged with an added blast of ’70s rock, disco, and funk, turning the whole thing into a jukebox time machine with absolutely no interest in subtlety.
The pitch is simple: over two dozen tribute-style performances folded into one night, more than 30 costume changes, and a song list so stacked it practically reads like the contents page of old AM and FM radio. From Bill Haley, Paul Anka, Elvis, Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, and The Platters to The Beatles, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Neil Diamond, Donna Summer, ABBA, Bee Gees, Queen, Tina Turner, and beyond, the show ricochets across decades and genres with the kind of relentless enthusiasm that has apparently earned it more than 170 standing ovations across Canada.
In other words, this isn’t a polite nostalgia concert. It’s a full-tilt revue built for people who like their memories loud, glittery, and delivered in hit after hit after hit.
