Every Wednesday, The Black Horse shines the light on a new — or simply new-to-the-stage — Peterborough artist. This week, Mike Audet takes the spotlight for an evening celebrating the local music scene.
Thursday Jazz & Blues Night

Carling Stephen and Rob Phillips front the band for another Thursday night of jazz and blues at The Black Horse. Three hours of live music, grooves and plenty of room for the players to stretch out.
The Electrick Herd

The Electrick Herd brings a mind-bending blend of roots rock, folk rock, alt-country and psychedelia to the Black Horse stage. A little twang, a little rock and a little something harder to pin down — exactly the sort of Friday night that calls for a few extra hours at the bar.
Emily Burgess
Saturday, August 22 | 5–8 p.m.
Guitarist, singer and songwriter Emily Burgess brings her considerable blues pedigree to The Black Horse. A Maple Blues Award winner and former member of The 24th Street Wailers, Burgess has worked with artists including Sue Foley, Rita Chiarelli and The Weber Brothers. Her three solo albums — Are We in Love?, Never-Ending Fling and Arrow — round out a career built around the guitar and a damn good song.
RucKus
Saturday, August 22 | 9 p.m.–midnight
Saturday night gets loud. Don Zablotny and Earl Wilfong bring RucKus to The Black Horse, backed by a history that includes sharing stages with Glass Tiger, Frozen Ghost and America, as well as opening for Joe Cocker. If you’re not ready to call it a night after Emily Burgess, you’ve got somewhere to go.

Sunday, August 23 | 4–7 p.m.
Peterborough’s Got Talent winner Alex McMann closes out the week with his distinctive country and acoustic sound. A Sunday afternoon set made for winding down the weekend with a local voice and a good song.
