The Historic Market Hall
Get ready to bust a gut with The Great Canadian Comedy Caravan, a soft-seat theatre tour packed with TV writers, actors, and Just for Laughs veterans. It’s like a comedy road trip, but with fewer pit stops and way more laughs.
Headliner Rob Pue:
In his 30-year comedy career, Rob has done it all, except maybe stand-up on the moon (but hey, there’s still time). His debut comedy album, #PUEGILIST, hit #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts faster than you can say “I’ll have what he’s having.” You’ve seen him on Comedy Central, MTV’s Punk’d, and his own Comedy Now special on The Comedy Network. Rob’s a regular on CBC’s The Debaters and has graced the stages of Just For Laughs, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Halifax Comedy Festival. Oh, and did we mention he won the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition? No big deal—just the same competition that launched the careers of Dana Carvey, Robin Williams, and Ellen DeGeneres (yes, that Ellen).
Rob’s bringing along some hilarious friends:
Todd Reid: As seen on Just For Laughs, Sirius XM, and Italian Week Festival’s Main Stage. Todd’s also a quarterfinalist in the prestigious PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, which means he’s as funny with a pen as he is with a mic.
Denis Grignon: Celebrating 25 years on the comedy circuit, Denis is known for working above the neck, not below the belt. He’s performed for Canadian Forces in Afghanistan and has written for Canada’s biggest newspaper, The Toronto Star. You might also recognize his voice from CBC Radio—because when he’s not making people laugh, he’s making them think.
Hosted by Matt Watson: Matt has brought his comedic chops to Just for Laughs 42, and festivals from Glasgow to Melbourne. He’s also been heard on Sirius XM radio, proving he’s got the voice to match the punchlines.
And the best part? All proceeds from this event will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough. So, come out, laugh your socks off, and do some good while you’re at it!
