The Historic Market Hall
Always a riot and completely one-of-a-kind, the Mudmen are a whirlwind of Celtic energy, boasting personalities that shine both on and off the stage. Dive into an evening of Celtic tunes and tales with Canada’s own Celtic Rock Warriors. Discovered in 1993 when brothers Sandy and Rob Campbell inked a record deal with EMI Records, they rebranded as Mudmen in 1998—because “Campbell Brothers” just didn’t quite capture their Celtic chaos.
These guys have had their music pop up everywhere from Xbox and PlayStation games to NBC’s The Black Donnelly’s and WWE Wrestling. They’ve even made their mark on 6 Don Cherry Rock’em Sock’em hockey DVDs, HBO’s Shameless, and a bunch of Much Music videos, reaching #19 on the Edge Radio countdown.
In 2008, Sandy and Rob Campbell performed on the Hockey Night in Canada anthem produced by rock legend Bob Rock, leading Ron MacLean to declare, “Mudmen, we love ’em!” This endorsement paved the way for a whirlwind 3-month tour with Johnny Reid, where the Campbell Brothers made a splash on his DVD and PBS special, and even graced the Canadian Country Music Awards.
Their career highlights are nothing short of legendary: they’ve met and performed for the Queen, rocked the Edmonton Oilers’ home opener, and jammed at the 84 Oilers Stanley Cup reunion. They’ve hit up 7 Grey Cup fan-fests, 3 Memorial Cups, and shared the stage with everyone from ZZ Top to The Guess Who, Kim Mitchell to The Irish Rovers.
With 10 CDs, over 3,000 shows, and performances across 7 countries, Mudmen are amassing fans of all ages. Sandy Campbell, Robby Campbell, Colin Amey, Emmett Glancie, Alex Showdra, and Andy Gingerich prove that nice guys can finish first—while rocking out and spreading joy to their audiences.
