Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour — Where Art Breathes and Paint Still Smells Fresh

June 26, 2025 – October 5, 2025
Art Gallery of Peterborough

From the shimmering waters of Stoney Lake to the winding roads of Keene, the Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour isn’t your average gallery hop—it’s a self-guided backstage pass into the heart of local creativity. This is where art lives. And breathes. And sometimes leaves clay under your fingernails.

Each fall, the region’s most compelling painters, potters, sculptors, textile magicians, and creative outliers crack open their studio doors and invite you inside the process. The accompanying exhibit is a preview—and a promise. It pulses with colour, texture, and the kind of personal vision you can only find when artists are left alone to follow their instincts.

These aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re love letters to the land. Meditations on light. Explorations of identity, place, and process. The work spans the joyful and the solemn, the masterful and the mischievous. And whether it’s canvas, clay, metal or mixed media, every piece tells a story—if you’re willing to lean in and listen.

With a healthy mix of returning favourites and fresh new voices, this year’s tour is a chance to celebrate the raw talent tucked into our backroads and barn lofts. Grab a printed map or fire up the Toureka app, chart your course, and hit the road.

Because art isn’t just something to hang—it’s something to experience.
