The Historic Market Hall
From setting Halifax’s Marquee Club ablaze to charming the crowds at Massey Hall and hitting the road with his dad, Joel Plaskett has solidified his status as one of Canada’s most captivating performers and revered singer-songwriters.
Plaskett’s tunes are practically part of the national soundtrack, forever gracing “best of” lists and soundtracking the lives of devoted fans from coast to coast and beyond. Over a stellar 25-year career, he’s racked up a Juno, a slew of East Coast Music, Canadian Folk, and Music Nova Scotia awards, and not one, but two Polaris short-list nods.
His latest venture, 44, is his most ambitious musical concoction yet. This sprawling box set features four albums of 11 songs each, all tied together with a visual and thematic ribbon. At its core, 44 is a creative exploration of trying to hit pause and grow up while the world keeps speeding up.
