La Hacienda is leaning into March with the kind of cooking experiences that do more than fill a room—they fill the air with spice, citrus, and the promise of something worth eating. Tucked into its own little corner of Mexico on Hunter Street, Mercado La Hacienda is offering a trio of classes that invite guests to step beyond the table and into the kitchen.
On March 5 at 5:30 p.m., the spotlight turns to Mexican Cuisine, an evening of hands-on cooking built around classic dishes prepared the way La Hacienda knows best. It’s part lesson, part dinner, and all about getting closer to the flavours that make Mexican cooking so enduring.
For younger cooks, the March Break Kids Cooking Class lands on March 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a lively introduction to real kitchen skills, Mexican ingredients, and the kind of confidence that comes from making something with your own hands. It sounds like a smart way to keep kids engaged—and fed.
Then on March 13 at 5:30 p.m., La Hacienda dives into bright, bracing coastal flavour with its Ceviches Masterclass, where guests can learn to prepare both Mexican and Peruvian-style ceviches. Expect fresh ingredients, sharp technique, and the sort of dish that tends to make home cooks look unexpectedly impressive at their next dinner party.
Space is limited across all classes, which feels about right for something this intimate.
All classes take place at Mercado La Hacienda, 6-188 Hunter St.
