Community Unites to Support Students with Gear Up for Good Campaign

207 Fully Stocked Backpacks, Fresh Haircuts, and Pizza Dinners Delivered

The Gear Up for Good campaign wrapped up with a powerful show of community spirit, sending 207 local students back to school with everything they need to succeed. Each student received a fully stocked backpack filled with supplies and snacks, along with fresh haircuts and a celebratory pizza dinner. Families signed up through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough and the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Foundation.

The campaign was made possible through the generosity of more than a dozen local businesses and the leadership of 200 Gauvreau staff, who donated, packed, and coordinated every step of the way.

Highlights from this year’s campaign:

  • 207 fully stocked backpacks with supplies and snacks
  • Fresh haircuts – Union Barber closed its shop for a full day to provide cuts for the boys, while Gauvreau sponsored gift cards for girls’ haircuts
  • Pizza dinner celebration – made possible by Domino’s Pizza
  • Snacks for every backpack – provided by Quaker
  • 100 backpacks – generously donated by Ricart’s

“Gear Up for Good is a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together. We are so proud of our local businesses, partners, and staff who stepped up to make sure every child heads back to school feeling prepared and supported,” said Robert Gauvreau.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to every donor, partner, and volunteer who contributed—your generosity made this campaign a true community success.
