Chantal Kreviazuk: The Voice That Won’t Sit Still

Sunday, October 5 • 7:00 PM
The Historic Market Hall

From the first haunting notes of Under These Rocks and Stones, it was clear Chantal Kreviazuk wasn’t here to coast. The Winnipeg-born firestarter hit the ground in ’97 with the kind of debut that didn’t just whisper vulnerability—it roared it, wrapped in sweeping piano lines and that voice: fierce, fragile, and unmistakably hers.

But the story didn’t stop at center stage. Over the next two decades, Kreviazuk became a one-woman force of nature—Grammy winner, three-time JUNO champ, platinum-selling artist, actress, producer, and humanitarian with a passport full of stamps and a Rolodex that reads like a pop hall of fame. Drake? Stefani? Kendrick? Shakira? If there’s a global hit with a little more depth than expected, chances are Chantal left fingerprints on the lyrics.

She’s penned songs that shaped the charts, and in the same breath, raised her voice for those silenced by war, poverty, or stigma. Awarded the Order of Canada in 2014 alongside her partner in both life and music, Raine Maida, Kreviazuk’s legacy reaches far beyond airwaves. As one of the founding artists and a longtime ambassador for War Child, her mission has always been bigger than music—though she’s made plenty of that too, including a holiday album and a raw, real collaboration with Maida that blends love and lyrics like no one else can.

Ten albums deep, with three kids, a cause in every pocket, and no signs of slowing down, Chantal Kreviazuk doesn’t just write the soundtrack—she lives it.

Ticket Prices: $60.00
