Burning Bridges: Peterborough’s Hard Rock Firebrand Lighting Up the Scene

There’s a grit in the air when Burning Bridges takes the stage—like the afterburn of a drag strip flare-up or the crackle of feedback just before ignition. Born out of a cramped rehearsal loft in Peterborough, Ontario, this quartet—Wes Tustin on vocals and guitar, Alli Young shredding second guitar, Phil English pounding drums, and Dallas Burke thundering on bass—has become one of Ontario’s most visceral hard rock bands.

Their sound isn’t polite. It’s heavy. It’s modern. It’s built for blasting through walls. Take their explosive single “Love’s a Game”: a perfect snapshot of what Burning Bridges does best—big riffs, potent hooks, and energy you feel in your chest. Their follow-up tracks “Runnin’ Off The Tracks” and “Heartless” don’t soften the blow—they escalate it.

Since 2020, Burning Bridges has torn through stages across Ontario—opening for the likes of Saint Asonia, Bif Naked, Tech N9ne, Ill Scarlett, and The Killjoys. They’ve carved their path through festivals like PYROFEST and won Pet Rock Radio’s Band Wars, guaranteeing them a place on the stage of Ontario’s premier indie festival, Gussapolooza in 2024. Their star is rising fast, and critics and fans alike have taken notice: The area’s New Music Awards 2023 crowned them Rock Single of the Year (“Goin’ Down”) and Rock Artist of the Year.

Live, they become elemental forces. Whether they’re storming the stage at Saint Asonia’s hometown show or packing out a Peterborough indie dive, Burning Bridges knows how to own every moment.

These rock kings are forging a legacy—not with nostalgia, but with forward momentum. They aren’t just part of the scene in Peterborough; they’re burning a bridge over it. Step into the fire.
