Firmly entrenched as one of Scotland’s most talented and imaginative contemporary folk acts, Breabach effortlessly blends deep Highland and Island traditions with the cutting-edge sounds of the Scottish music scene. In 2022, they dropped their latest studio album, Fàs, and snagged the title of ‘Folk Band of the Year’ at the Scots Trad Music Awards—because why not add another accolade to their growing collection?

Over the years, they’ve released seven increasingly acclaimed albums, each one showcasing their ever-evolving creativity. But they don’t stop there—they’ve collaborated with everyone from BAFTA-winning animator Cat Bruce on the short film Dùsgadh, to indigenous Australasian artists Moana & The Tribe, and Quebec’s Le Vent du Nord. They’ve even dipped their toes into the video game world with composer Big Giant Circles and served as artists-in-residence at the 2019 Celtic Colours festival alongside Cape Breton’s Beòlach. Breabach is proof that tradition and innovation can dance together in perfect harmony.
